Runnin’ the Race Ranch Retreat is housed on a 125 year old homestead of a third generation farm. Boasting a scenic seventeen and a half acres of pasture, stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, wide coulees and rolling foothills. This majestic setting is the ideal place to get away from the constant sights, sounds and noise of the city and retreat into the wind blowing through the spruce and poplar trees, the soothing hoots of the resident owl, and the thundering hooves of a playful and friendly herd of horses.
You can walk through the 1600 square foot garden growing abundant with ripe carrots, zucchini, peas, rhubarb, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and asparagus. Raspberry bushes and strawberry plants wind through the garden adding to the rainbow of colors to delight your senses. Crabapple and pear trees provide the makings for homemade applesauce, apple cider, pear chips and apple pie. On any given day, you might find Amanda in the kitchen cooking up a batch of fresh apple rhubarb crisp or cutting up the fixings for zucchini, potato, and onion soup. Grapes grow along the side of The Bunkhouse for easy picking.
Walk back into your childhood dream of being a cowboy or cowgirl on a ranch. Watch from a distance or get your hands dirty haltering and feeding the horses. Something inside every one of us wants to reconnect with those childhood dreams. At Runnin’ the Race Ranch Retreat, we make those dreams a reality. You’ll have the chance to feel the strength of a majestic sixteen hand tall Quarter Horse Clydesdale or melt with the gentle heart of a brown and white paint pony. You’ll hear the clanking of the spurs, don your cowboy hat and have a chance to ride off into the sunset on your trusty steed with a calm mind and a full heart.
